September Monthly Activity From Post 15

(Columbia, KY) - During the month of September 2007, there were 56 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.
There were six fatalities:
JOSHUA A. MONROE, Hustonville, Kentucky, was killed in Casey County on 09/04/07,
KENNY D. RICHARDS, Springfield, Kentucky was killed in Washington County on 09/13/07,
JERRY FERGUSON, Albany, Kentucky was killed in Clinton County on 09/15/07,
KIMBERLY SMITH, Albany, Kentucky was killed in Clinton County on 09/15/07,
AARON COUCH, Springfield, Kentucky was killed in Taylor County on 09/17/07, and
JUSTIN RAMSEY, Columbia, Kentucky was killed in Adair County on 09/19/07.
This brings our yearly fatality count to 34 compared with 37 through this same period in 2006.
State wide fatality count stands at 635 compared with 665 through this same period in 2006.
During the month of September 2007, there were 1,435 citations written, 248 courtesy notices written, 3,111 vehicles inspected, 1,032 complaints answered, 67 motorists assisted, 89 criminal cases opened and 289 criminal arrests made.
