Possible Electrocution & Theft in Marion County

(Columbia, KY) - Approximately 1:00 am on Wednesday, May 9th the Kentucky State Police in Columbia was contacted by a Kentucky Utilities employee in Marion County concerning a possible burglary of a KU and Eastern Ky. Power Substation located 2 ½ miles north of Lebanon on Springfield HWY. (KY. 55).

Upon arrival officers from the Kentucky State Police and Lebanon Police Department discovered burglar tools and burned clothing. After further investigation it was learned that an unknown person had been taken to Flaget Hospital in Bardstown with burn injuries and airlifted to the University of Louisville Hospital.

This marks the third burglary or attempt of burglary to a KU Substation in Marion County since May 6th. The investigation will be continuing by Tpr. John Boyd of KSP Post 15 in Columbia, the Marion County Sheriff's Department, and the Lebanon Police Department.
