School Bus Hit and Run Investigation in Carter County

(Ashland, KY) - Della Hoover was operating a Carter County school bus westbound on KY 182 in the Grahn area when she encountered a 1997 International rollback wrecker being operated by Mark Harr travelling eastbound. Both vehicles met in a curve on a grade at which time the rear drivers side of the school bus struck the front drivers side of the wrecker. The wrecker was disabled due to the impact and remained at the scene. Ms. Hoover left the scene at that time and was located a short time later at West Carter High School and was told to report back to the bus garage in regards to the collision. The driver of the school bus (Della Hoover) was then cited into Carter District Court on the charges of Leaving the Scene of a Collision, DUI 1st, and other traffic charges. The bus did not have any passengers at the time of the collision and no students were put into harms way due to the incident. Mark Harr, was not injured in the collision. Trooper Matt Girdwood is continuing the investigation at this time.
