Fatal Collision on US 23 in Boyd County

(Ashland, KY) - Kentucky State Police in Ashland is investigating a single vehicle collision that claimed the life of a Louisa resident. Harley Sternitzke was travelling southbound on US 23 when he lost control of his vehicle. Sternitzke's vehicle dropped off the shoulder of the roadway and overturned over a steep embankment. Sternitzke was airlifted to St. Mary's Medical Center for treatment of multiple injuries. Hensley succumbed to his injuries on 12-6-07 and was pronounced dead by the Cabell County Coroner.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation by Trooper Simmons. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
