Human Remains Discovered in Greenup County

(Ashland, KY) - The Kentucky State Police at Ashland Post 14 is currently conducting an investigation after human skeletal remains were located in a wooded area off of Happy Ridge Road near the Boyd / Greenup County line.

Construction workers discovered the remains and contacted the Kentucky State Police who responded to the scene. Dr. Emily Craig also responded and confirmed the remains were that of an adult male. There is no additional information available as to cause of death. Authorities will be on site tomorrow during daylight hours to scour the scene for additional evidence.

** The case remains under joint investigation by the State Medical Examiner's office, Greenup County Coroner, and Detective Kouns of the Kentucky State Police.
