Felony Arrests in Greenup County

(Ashland, KY) - Kentucky State Police have arrested two Greenup County residents in connection with a series of copper thefts in the surrounding area. Trooper Shannon Jones arrested Michael Dinger on 9-20-07 after Trooper Jones discovered the Kentucky State Police Tower located on Beauty Ridge in Greenup County had been burglarized. A large amount of copper was stolen from this tower. Trooper Jones arrested Charles Rodney Greene on 9-24-07 for the same charge. Both suspects were also linked to a tower that had been broken into on Old Wilson Creek in Carter County, KY where several items (primarily copper) were stolen from this site. Trooper Elliott Gollihue charged both suspects for the theft from Old Wilson Creek on 9-27-07. Additional charges are pending whereas the investigation is still continuing. Authorities are currently investigating if Dinger and Greene are responsible for other cell phone towers being burglarized in the local areas of Greenup, Carter, and Lewis Counties.
