Injury Crash on I-64 in Carter County

(Ashland, KY) - Kentucky State Police is investigating a single vehicle collision that occurred on I-64 early this morning. Brian Keesee was travelling Eastbound on I-64 near the Carter / Boyd County line when he lost control of his vehicle. Investigators are still unclear why Mr. Keesee lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle crossed the median and struck an earth embankment on the westbound side of I-64.

Mr. Keesee was ejected from his vehicle and received multiple injuries. He was transported (flown) by Healthnet from the scene to Cabell-Huntington Hospital.

Mr. Keesee was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the collision.

The collision remains under investigation by Trooper Shane Goodall.
