Attempt To Locate (Fugitive) in Boyd County

(Ashland, KY) - At approximately 1953 hours yesterday evening (7/27/07), the Kentucky State Police received information of a possible location of fugitive Anthony "Tony" Artrip at a residence near Ike Patton Drive and Daniels Fork area of Boyd County. As Troopers arrived at the residence, they observed Tony Artrip flee into a heavily wooded area. Meanwhile, Troopers spotted a red Dodge Stealth that was occupied by Chris Artrip. Troopers subsequently initiated a pursuit of the vehicle down Daniels Fork after the vehicle failed to stop. The vehicle stopped on Brookfield Farm Road and the driver fled into a wooded area. Troopers arrested a female passenger for multiple drug offenses. It is unclear at this time her relationship to the Artrips.

The Kentucky State Police SRT was activated and responded to the scene as well as K-9 assets from DESI. A thorough search of the area was conducted; however, neither suspect was located.

Residents in this area should be alert of any suspicious activity and alert the Kentucky State Police of any suspicious activity.
