Fatal Crash Occurs in Perry County

(Hazard, KY) - On Saturday December 15, 2007 at approximately 08:15 a.m. Kentucky State Police in Hazard received a call of a traffic accident on the Hal Rogers Parkway in the Brownsfork Community of Perry County.

Emergency Personnel and Troopers arrived at the scene and located a single vehicle accident. The operator, Sherry Elizabeth Smith age 29 of Sextons Creek Ky. was traveling West on the Parkway when she lost control of her vehicle and ran off of the roadway. The vehicle then rolled over several times and ejected the victim. The Perry County Coroners Office pronounced the victim deceased at the scene. No seat belt was in use at the time of the accident. The investigation is continuing by Tpr. Ira Napier.
