Six Injured In Franklin County Collision on I-64

Date of News Release: 11/13/2007

(Frankfort, KY) - On Tuesday, November 13, 2007, all vehicles were traveling Eastbound on I-64. Sara R. Lyons, Matthew E. Bichler, Franics Newkirk, & Samuel G. Roberts' vehicles were stopped in traffic because on road construction on I-64 at the Kentucky River Bridge. Earl D. Collins' vehicle failed to stop and struck Sara R. Lyons' vehicle causing a chain reaction. I-64 was shut down for 2.5 hours.

Earl D. Collins was using a seatbelt and was injured and was treated at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

Sara R. Lyons was using a seatbelt and so was the two juvenile passengers. Ms. Lyons was treated at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center. The two juvenile passengers were treated at the UK Medical Center

Matthew E. Bichler and his passenger Holly M. Bichler were both wearing their seatbelts and were treated at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center.

Franics Newkirk and her 4 passengers were all wearing a seatbelt and were not injured in the collision.

Samuel G. Roberts was also wearing his seatbelt and was not injured in the collision.
