Anderson County Marijuana Indoor Grow Busted

(Frankfort, KY ) - (Post 12 Frankfort, KY) On Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at 11:30 AM Kentucky State Police executed a search warrant at 1041 Lanes Mill Road in Anderson County. Search of the residence led to the discovery of 79 marijuana plants found growing in a concealed basement room.

The indoor grow equipment found is valued at $3000.00. The 79 cultivated marijuana plants are valued at $2000.00 each. Street value of the 79 marijuana plants is $158,000. Kentucky State Police also confiscated six long guns and 3 handguns.

Chris J. Stewart of Lawrenceburg, KY has been arrested and charged with Cultivating in Marijuana over Five Plants, Class D felony. He also was charged with Possession of A controlled Substance 1st, Methadone, Loratabs and Xanax, class D felony. He was lodged in the Franklin County Regional Jail. Investigation is continuing by Post 12 Frankfort.

The last indoor grow taken down in Anderson County was in 2003, 79 plants. Last year statewide there were 40 indoor grows and in 2005 there was 52 indoor grows.
