Post 10 Drug Round Up

(BARBOURVILLE, KY) On 8/27/2007 at 08:00 a.m., Troopers and Detectives from the Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan conducted a round up of multiple drug dealers in Knox County. This stemmed from a lengthy investigation conducted by Detective Mike Taylor of Post 10 Harlan, using confidential informants to make the drug buys and then obtaining warrants for the drug dealers arrests. During the round up, several items were recovered by the Troopers; over $2000 cash, 1 handgun and several hundred prescription pills. There were 16 felony arrests on 42 charges.

The subjects arrested were:

• Arnold Gray of Bimble, KY charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd degree, Persistent Felony Offender.
• Easter Smith of Alex Creek, KY charged with 4 counts Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd degree, 2 counts Trafficking Controlled Substance 3rd degree and 1 count Trafficking Marijuana.
• Elmer Smith of Alex Creek, KY charged with 3 counts of Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd degree, 2 counts Trafficking Controlled Substance 3rd degree and 1 count Trafficking Marijuana.
• Otis Sizemore of Stinking Creek, KY charged with 2 counts of Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd degree.
• Shirley Sizemore of Stinking Creek, KY charged with 2 counts of Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st degree and 1 count Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd degree.
• Lisa Roop of Bailey Branch, KY charged with 3 counts of Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st degree.
• Chasity Roop of Bailey Branch, KY charged with 3 counts of Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd degree.
• Brandon Bledsoe of Barbourville, KY charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st degree.
• Scotty Jewel of Manchester, KY charged with Trafficking Controlled Substance 1st degree.
• James Wagers of Bimble, KY charged with 3 counts of Trafficking Controlled Substance 2nd degree.

Other arrests are pending at this time for subjects that were not located during the round up as well as new indictments with the Knox County Grand Jury.

Assisting with the round up were units from Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan and the Knox County Sheriffs Department. These cases are still under investigation by Detective Mike Taylor Kentucky State Police Post 10 Harlan.
