Two Murder Investigations in Pike County

Date of News Release: 11/12/2006

Pikeville, KY-- On Sunday, November 12, 2006 at 10:34 am EST, Post 9-Pikeville, received a call regarding shots fired at a residence on Road Creek of Pike County.

KSP Troopers and Detectives responded to the scene and discovered that Jordan Justice, 27 years of age, had been fatally wounded by gunshot. An unknown male came to Justice's residence and an altercation ensued in which Justice was shot. Justice was pronounced dead at the scene by the Pike County Coroner.

At 1:00 pm EST, while investigating the first shooting, KSP received a call that Gary King, 50 years of age, had been found deceased at his Road Creek residence. When Troopers and Detectives responded they found that King had also been shot. King was pronounced dead at the scene by the Pike County Coroner.

The two investigations continue by Detective Mitch Adkins. Although these shootings both occurred on Road Creek it is still too early to determine how or if they are related. Autopsies will be conducted by the State Medical Examiners Office in Frankfort.
