Trooper Cecil W. Uzzle Memorial Highway Sign to be Unveiled

(PIKEVILLE, KY) On Wednesday, June 14, 2006, the Secretary of Justice General Norman Arflack, Senator Ray Jones, Kentucky State Police Commissioner Mark Miller and members of the Kentucky State Police will be on hand for the unveiling of signs naming KY 1460 in Pike County the "Trooper Cecil W. Uzzle Memorial Highway". KY 1460 is being named in honor and memory of Trooper Uzzle who was killed in the line of duty.

This roadway is being named as a result of passage of senate bill 18 by the 2002 Kentucky General Assembly and was signed into law on March 20, 2002, by Governor Paul E. Patton.

The ceremony will be held on KY 1460 at the junction of KY 1426 at the Pikeville Fire Department Training Center and will begin at 1:30 p.m.


Pikeville Fire Department is located at the junction of KY 1460 and KY 1426.
From US 23 south take the Downtown Pikeville exit.
Turn right at the first traffic light (McDonalds on your right).
Turn left at the next traffic light onto KY 1426.
Go to the 4th traffic light turn right onto KY 1460.
The event will take place in the parking lot on your right.
