Thieves Interrupt Telephone Service for Local Residents

(Pikeville, Ky.) - Many residents in East Kentucky are finding themselves without phone service due to thieves stealing telephone facilities. Over the past six months there have been a string of thefts that left many residents out of service. BellSouth and the Kentucky State Police have been working diligently to locate and apprehend those individuals who are responsible.

According to BellSouth Security Manger Bernie Ubben, "This is a very dangerous act for both the perpetrator and for the general public. We just want to find out who is responsible for this so that we can put a stop to it, and continue to provide our customers with the best service possible."
