Fatal Bicycle Crash on KY 1939 in Bourbon County, KY

(Bourbon County, KY) - Kentucky State Police at Post 6 Dry Ridge responded to a fatal accident that occurred at approximately 6 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, on KY 1939 south of Paris.Sixty-one-year-old Bruce Ostermeier was riding a bicycle on Hutchison Station Road when he was struck and killed by a vehicle driven by 18-year-old Joshua L. Shaw of Bourbon County. Ostermeier was pronounced dead at the scene at 6:51 a.m. by Bourbon County Deputy Coroner Terry Pollitt. Drugs and alcohol are not suspected factors in the accident.

The accident remains under investigation by KSP Det. Clint Graves.
