4 Year Old Child Shot In Henry County

Port Royal, Kentucky - On June 21, 2006 at 7:00 pm Kentucky State Police troopers and Henry county EMS responded to a shooting involving a 4 year old child, Sarah Marie Courtney. The shooting took place at 6676 Franklinton Road, Port Royal KY. According to lead investigator Trooper Jim Mitchell the child was shot in the mouth by another child with a 38 cal. revolver. Sarah Courtney was flown by LifeNet to Kosairs Hospital in Louisville, KY with possible life threatening injuries. There have been no criminal charges filed at this time. Trooper Mitchell will present his investigation to the Henry County Attorney Virginia Harrod who will determine whether or not to file criminal charges against anyone.
