1 Vehicle Crash On I-71 In Henry County Sends 2 To The Hospital

Pendleton, Kentucky - On June 16, 2006 at 4:00 pm Kentucky State Police Post-5 received a 911 call of an injury crash on I-71 at the 28 mile marker northbound. According to Trooper Kevin Johnson a blue SUV was traveling north on I-71 when it was forced into the median by an unknown vehicle. The operator of the SUV reentered the roadway and overturned at least 2 times. 2 passengers were ejected from the vehicle. Brandon Stewart age 14, from Louisville, KY was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected. He received life threatening injuries and was flown to Kosairs by StatCare. Morgan Maxwell age 10, from Louisville, KY was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected. She received life threatening injuries was also flown to Kosairs via StatCare. The driver Lisa Maxwell age 39 from Louisville, KY was wearing a seatbelt and received minor injuries and was not transported to the hospital. I-71 northbound was closed for approximately 1 hour.

Trooper Kevin Johnson is the investigating officer and was assisted by StatCare, Campbellsburg Fire Dept., Henry County EMS, Oldham County EMS and LaGrange Fire Dept.
