Injury Crash and DUI Charges on I-65
Date of News Release: 11/15/2006
(Elizabethtown, KY) - U/1 occupied by Raul Rodoifo, Norcroos, GA., 24, exited northbound from I-65 onto KY 84 in Sonora and failed to yield the right of way. U/1 crossed both lanes and struck an Amish buggy that was traveling west bound on KY 84 and was occupied by three individuals. U/1 continued on KY 84 where the vehicle left the right side of the roadway striking a tree and came to a final rest. The driver of u/1 was admitted to Hardin Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver and the two passengers were all arrested. Passengers were lodged at the Hardin County Jail for alcohol intoxication. The driver was cited to court due to his injuries for the following charges of DUI 1st, Leaving The Scene of an Accident, No Insurance, No/Expired Registration Plates, No Operators License, and Possession Of Alcohol In A Motor Vehicle. Accident is being investigated by Trooper Brian Mouser of the Kentucky State Police Post 4 Elizabethtown.
