Pursuit and Arrests in Jefferson County

(Elizabethtown, KY) - While conducting a traffic safety stop in West Point Kentucky, suspects pulled up to the road check and turned off their headlights and sped away northbound on US31 W. Units pursued suspects into Jefferson County. Once inside Jefferson County the suspects went separate directions. Trooper Jenkins followed the first suspect until he entered onto Watterson Expressway West. Trooper Jenkins then lost visual of suspect and terminated pursuit. Trooper Smallwood continued the pursuit of suspect two onto the Gene Snyder Freeway where the suspect eventually pulled onto the shoulder and ended the pursuit. Louisville Metro police officers assisted Trooper Smallwood in the apprehension of the second suspect. Once the second suspect stopped he refused to comply with the officers commands and was subdued by Louisville Metro with a taser. No other force was used while affecting the arrest. The passenger on the motorcycle driven by the second suspect was arrested without incident.

Second Suspects were identified as:
Ashley W. Meyer age 27 of Louisville, KY was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property over $300. Auto, Obscuring the Identity of a Machine Over $300. Morgan A. Horne age 20 of Louisville, KY was also arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Property Over $300. Auto. But Mr. Meyer and Ms. Horne were lodged into the Hardin County Jail.

Identity of the first suspect was discovered through investigation and warrants will be sought in both Jefferson and Hardin Counties.
