Two Escape From the Bullitt County Jail

(Elizabethtown, KY) - At approximately 20:30 hours (08:30 pm) on 04-17-2006 two inmates escaped from the Bullitt County Jail. Subjects used an unknown tool to dig through the wall of the jail cell and escaped through a field.
First escapee is Anthony Wayne Sherill, white male, 28, of Indiana, is described as 5'10, 185 lbs, brown hair, brown eyes has a mustache and goatee. Sherill has a tattoo of a dragon on his back and has his left ear pierced.
Second inmate is Joseph T. McCauley, white male, 28, of Kentucky, 5'10, 145 lbs, brown eyes, brown hair, has a mustache. McCauley also has a tattoo on right shoulder, right arm, and scar on left knee. He was last seen wearing orange shorts and white tee shirt.
Both subjects have felony convictions of felony thefts and burglaries. McCauley is also facing charges of persistent felony offender 1st degree. It is unknown if either subjects are armed but they are to be considered dangerous.
The Kentucky State Police is being assisted in this investigation by the Bullitt County Sheriff's Office, Shepherdsville Police Department, Lebanon Junction Police Department, Louisville Metro Police Department, Fish and Wildlife, and the U.S Marshall's Fugitive Task Force.
