Bank Robbery Investigation and Arrest in Meade County, KY

(Elizabethtown, KY) - At approximately 13:10 Kentucky State Police and Meade County Sheriff's Department responded to a hold up alarm at the First Federal Savings Bank located at 4055 Flaherty Road.
James Michael Curtis was arrested and charged with the robbery along with multiple other felony offenses and misdemeanor offenses.
James Michael Curtis'apprehension was the result of efforts on the part of multiple agencies and the members of the community.
The suspect vehicle,a 2004 black Pontiac Grand Prix, was spotted leaving the First Federal Savings Bank. Information on direction of travel was relayed to responding officers who subsequently located suspect vehicle. James Michael Curtis attempted to elude the officers and wrecked his vehicle in the process at the intersection of US60 and Stringtown Road. James Michael Curtis was taken into custody with the assistance of the Meade County Sheriff's Department, Meade County Jail personnel, and members of the Meade County Fire Department. James Michael Curtis is being held in the Meade County Jail.
