Post 3 October 2006 Activity Report

(BOWLING GREEN, KY) - The Post Commander, Captain Bill Payton of the Kentucky State Police, Post 3 is reporting the following activity for the month of October 2006.

Troopers and Detectives issued a total of 1,919 citations of which 672 were for speeding and 2 for no child restraint. Troopers issued 71 warnings for no seatbelts. Fourty-eight people were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Troopers issued 565 courtesy notices investigated 103 accidents, of which 2 were fatals, and assisted 252 motorist, while inspecting 2,405 vehicles.

Detectives and Troopers investigated 1,378 complaints, and opened 96 criminal cases, and made 326 criminal arrests.

Troopers also worked 802 special details and programs for October.
