Pursuit and Crash on US 31 in Hart County, KY

(BOWLING GREEN, Ky.) -- Roger Russell was southbound on US31 E when he was observed speeding by Tpr. Reynolds. Tpr. Reynolds attempted to stop Roger Russell at which point Roger Russell accelerated to over 100 mph and attempted to elude the Trooper. Roger Russell then turned left onto Little Blue Springs Church Road and continued at speeds in excess of 100 mph. After 3 miles, Roger Russell went across Rex Road at a high rate of speed and did not observe a stop sign. Roger Russell's vehicle then went into a field and he lost control and struck a tree, where he came to final rest. Roger Russell was extricated from the vehicle and was transported to TJ Samson where he is being treated for multiple non-life threatening injuries.

The charges pending against Mr. Russell are Speeding, Reckless Driving, Resisting Arrest, Fleeing or Evading Police 1st, DUI 2nd. He was cited and released due to his injuries.

The investigation is ongoing and further details are not being released.
