(BOWLING GREEN, KY) - The Post Commander, Captain Bill Payton of the Kentucky State Police, Post 3 is reporting the following activity for the month of April 2006.
Troopers and Detectives issued a total of 1,794 citations of which 594 were for speeding, 156 for no seatbelts, and 9 for no child restraint. Sixty people were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Troopers issued 727 courtesy notices investigated 90 accidents, of which 14 were fatalities and assisted 370 motorists, while inspecting 2,666 vehicles.
Detectives and Troopers investigated 1,359 complaints, and opened 128 criminal cases, and made 270 criminal arrests, and investigated 1 non-criminal case.
Troopers also worked 840 special details and programs for April.
