February 2006 Activity Report

(BOWLING GREEN, KY) - The Post Commander, Captain Bill Payton of the Kentucky State Police, Post 3 is reporting the following activity for the month of February 2006.
Troopers and Detectives issued a total of 2,170 citations of which 694 were for speeding, 172 for no seatbelts, and 9 for no child restraint. Forty-two people were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Troopers issued 513 courtesy notices investigated 83 accidents, of which 1 was a fatality, and assisted 293 motorists, while inspecting 2,161 vehicles.
Detectives and Troopers investigated 1,343 complaints, and opened 339 criminal cases, and made 597criminal arrests, and investigated 2 non-criminal cases.
Troopers also worked 837 special details and programs for February.
