January 2006 Activity Report

(BOWLING GREEN, KY) - The Post Commander, Captain Bill Payton of the Kentucky State Police, Post 3 is reporting the following activity for the month of January 2006.
Troopers and Detectives issued a total of 1,821 citations of which 512 were for speeding, 165 for no seatbelts, and 10 for no child restraint. Forty-eight people were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Troopers issued 591 courtesy notices investigated 94 accidents, of which 7 were fatalities (Four of which were not wearing seatbelts) and assisted 293 motorists, while inspecting 2,255 vehicles.
Detectives and Troopers investigated 1,314 complaints, and opened 138 criminal cases, and made 295 criminal arrests, and investigated 4 non-criminal cases.
Troopers also worked 859 special details and programs for January.
