Wanton Endangerment Investigation in Hart County, KY

(BOWLING GREEN, KY) - On 1-18-06, KSP received a complaint of unknown subjects throwing rocks at passing vehicles on I65. When units arrived at the scene, the perpetrators had fled and there were no vehicles requesting a report.

On 1-19-06 around 1800 hours, several calls were received in reference to very large rocks being thrown at vehicles on the interstate. Again, when units arrived on the scene, the subjects had fled the area. On this occasion, at least 2 vehicles were heavily damaged and several others had minor damage.

The subjects are throwing the rocks from the hills and trees on the sides of the roadways. Several of the rocks were over 5 inches in diameter and went straight through the windshields of the vehicles. None of the victims were injured.
