Felony DUI Arrest in Muhlenberg County

(Muhlenberg County) - Kentucky State Police responded to a vehicle accident on Hardwick Road in White Plains, KY. Trooper Lonnie Kavanaugh arrived on the scene and observed a 1987 GMC Jimmy on its top in the ditch. The driver, Jeffrey Allen Harris, was trapped in the driver's seat behind the steering wheel, and appeared to be unconscious. Trooper Kavanaugh got Mr. Harris to respond and he was freed from the vehicle. Trooper Brandon McPherson arrived on the scene to assist. The driver stated he was not injured, however, he appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Mr. Harris refused to perform any field sobriety tests. Trooper McPherson arrested Mr. Harris and lodged him in the Hopkins County Jail. Mr. Harris was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol 4th offense (Aggravating Circumstances), and Driving on DUI Suspended License 2nd offense.
