Drug Arrest in Hopkins County

(Hopkins County) - Tpr Darron Holliman, U/605, and Tpr Chris King, U/526, attempted to conduct a knock and talk at 1108 Huckleberry Road in Hopkins County in reference to a follow up investigation of cultivating marijuana.

Upon arrival units noticed marijuana growing in plain sight. No one was at the residence, but it was secured while Tpr Holliman obtained a search warrant. During the execution of the search warrant numerous items associated with the cultivation of marijuana were located. Two firearms were seized, one assault rifle and one 9mm semi automatic handgun. Approximately 11.2 ounces of marijuana along with 6 marijuana plants were seized.

Edward J. Beeny turned himself in to authorities and was charged with Cultivation of Marijuana more than 5 plants (firearm enhanced), Trafficking in Marijuana (firearm enhanced), Possession of Drug Parapnernalia 1st Offense (firearm enhanced) and Cultivation of Marijuana more than 5 plants from a 2005 investigation. Mr. Beeny was lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
