Crash Investigation in Dawson Springs, KY

Dawson Springs, KY (Hopkins County) - An unknown male subject was operating a 1994 Chevrolet Blazer northbound on KY 112 approximately 5 miles east of Dawson Springs when for an unknown reason, the vehicle crossed into the southbound lane and struck several mailboxes. The driver of the blazer overcorrected and crossed the northbound lane. The vehicle exited the roadway and struck an earth embankment causing it to overturn. The vehicle came to rest upright. The driver of the blazer fled from the scene prior to emergency personnel's arrival. Tpr. Lonnie Kavanaugh is continuing the investigation of the crash that occurred on September 26, 2006 at 9:55 a.m. Dawson Springs Rescue Squad and Medical Center Ambulance Service also responded to the scene.
