Injury Crash on Western Kentucky Parkway in Hopkins County

Date of News Release: 09/20/2006

Hopkins County - Kell Dixon age 83 of Murray, KY was operating a 2006 Ford Explorer westbound on the Western Kentucky Parkway at approximately the 41 mile-marker when for an unknown reason his vehicle veered off the left side of the roadway and struck a guardrail end. After striking the guardrail, the vehicle came to rest upright in the middle of both westbound lanes. Mr. Dixon was transported by Air Evac to Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, IN. Mr. Dixon was wearing a seatbelt. Both westbound lanes were closed for approximately one (1) hour. At the present time, both lanes have been cleared and the roadway is open. Tpr. Michael Dennis is investigating the crash that occurred on September 20, 2006 at 12:55 p.m. Sgt. Todd Jones, Tpr. Brandon McPherson, Tpr. Camileo Threatt, Det. Ben Wolcott, Nortonville Squad 2 EMS, South Hopkins Fire Department, Medical Center Ambulance Service and Air Evac assisted at the scene.
