Injury Crash on US 41A in Hopkins County

Date of News Release: 09/18/2006

Nebo, KY (Hopkins County) - Larry M. Price age 34 of Tunnel Hill, IL was operating a 2006 Freightliner tractor-trailer southbound on US 41A. The vehicle was hauling coal. As Mr. Price rounded a curve in the roadway, he lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle crossed into the northbound lane of traffic and exited the roadway. The vehicle traveled down an embankment and struck a fence. The trailer came loose from the cab and landed partially on the cab. Mr. Price had to be extricated from the vehicle. He was transported by ambulance to the Regional Medical Center for treatment. He was not wearing a seatbelt. Both lanes were closed for approximately 30 to 45 minutes. At the present time, one lane is open. Tpr. Lonnie Kavanaugh investigated the crash that occurred on September 18, 2006 at 11:10 a.m. Sgt. Todd Jones, Nebo Fire & Rescue, Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement, Providence Ambulance Service, Hopkins County Emergency Management and EPA assisted at the scene.
