Injury Crash on US 431 in Drakesboro, KY

Date of News Release: 09/18/2006

Drakesboro, KY - Lloyd Gardner age 51 of Greenville, KY was operating a 1988 Ford Ranger northbound on US 431. He was attempting to make a left turn from US 431 onto Frazier Street. Lisa Payne age 34 of Browder, KY was operating a 1993 Mercury Sable northbound on US 431 behind Gardner's vehicle. Payne could not stop her vehicle in time and rear-ended Gardner's vehicle. Payne, her passenger, Bertha Marks age 69 of Browder, KY, and Mr. Gardner were transported by ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment. All were wearing seatbelts. Angel Marks, the other passenger in Payne's vehicle, was not wearing a seatbelt and was not injured. Tpr. Nathan Knight investigated the crash that occurred on September 18, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. The Drakesboro Volunteer Fire Department and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
