Injury Crash on Buttermilk Road in St. Charles, KY

St. Charles, KY (Hopkins County) - Colden L. Smith age 20 of Benton, KY was operating a 1989 Dodge Dakota pickup truck southbound on Buttermilk Road. Kristin M. Latham age 23 of St. Charles, KY was operating a 1995 Pontiac Grand Am northbound on Buttermilk Road. The two vehicles met on a slight hillcrest on the narrow road and struck each other head-on. Kristin Latham was transported by ambulance to the Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. Colden Smith and his passenger, Sherry Hays age 41 of St. Charles, KY, were not injured. All subjects were wearing seatbelts. Tpr. Brian Gann investigated the crash that occurred on August 10, 2006 at 9:20 a.m. The St. Charles Volunteer Fire Department and the Medical Center Ambulance Service assisted at the scene.
