Injury Crash on US 431 in Drakesboro, KY
Date of News Release: 08/03/2006
Drakesboro, KY (Muhlenberg County) - Mandy N. Newman age 27 of Greenville, KY was operating a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan southbound on US 431 approximately 3 miles north of Drakesboro. Gregory A. Harvey age 37 of Manitou, KY was operating a 2000 Mack truck loaded with coal southbound on US 431 behind Newman's vehicle. Newman was slowing in traffic to make a turn. Harvey was unable to stop his vehicle in time and rear-ended Newman's vehicle. Newman's vehicle exited off the left side of the roadway and came to rest in a ditch. Harvey's vehicle came to rest in the southbound lane of the roadway. Newman was transported by ambulance to the Muhlenberg Community Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Harvey was not injured. Both subjects were wearing seatbelts. Tpr. Nathan Knight investigated the crash that occurred on August 3, 2006 at 8:25 a.m. Detective Greg Jones, the Drakesboro Volunteer Fire Department and Muhlenberg County EMS assisted at the scene.
