Fleeing/Evading Police Arrest in Oak Grove, KY

Oak Grove, KY (Christian County) - On Saturday, July 29, 2006 at approximately 9:00 a.m., Tpr. Mark Franklin was operating stationary radar on US 41A in Oak Grove. While there, Tpr. Franklin observed a vehicle traveling 72 mph in a 55-mph zone. Tpr. Franklin activated his blue lights in an effort to stop the vehicle. The vehicle abruptly crossed several lanes of traffic and jumped a curve into a gas station parking lot. The driver then fled from the vehicle. After a brief foot pursuit, Tpr. Franklin was able to catch the fleeing driver. The driver, identified as Carson L. Poore age 37 of Hopkinsville, KY, was taken into custody without further incident. Mr. Poore was lodged in the Christian County Detention Center and charged with the following offenses:
- Speeding 17 MPH Over Limit
- Reckless Driving
- Failure To or Improper Signal
- No Tinting Label on Vehicle
- Obstructed Vision and/or Windshield
- Improper Registration Plates
- No Registration Plates
- No Registration Receipt
- Failure to Produce Insurance Card
- Operating on Suspended or Revoked Operator's License
- Failure to Register Transfer of Motor Vehicle
- Improper Display of Registration Plates
- Fleeing or Evading Police 1st Degree (Motor Vehicle)
- Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd Degree (On Foot)
