Death Investigation in Elkton, KY

Date of News Release: 07/25/2006

Elkton, KY (Todd County) - Kenneth Shanklin, age 80 of Elkton, KY, was operating a Honda 300 4-wheeler on KY 104 spraying Johnson grass when he apparently suffered a heart attack. The 4-wheeler exited off the left side of the roadway and struck a fence. Mr. Shanklin was pronounced dead at the scene by the Todd County Coroner's office. At the present time, it appears that Mr. Shanklin died of natural causes. The investigation is continuing by the Kentucky State Police and the Todd County Coroner's Office. Tpr. Brian Gann is investigating the incident that occurred on July 25, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. The Todd County Sheriff's Department, Todd County EMS and the Todd County Coroner's Office assisted at the scene.
