Update to Death Investigation in Guthrie, KY

Date of News Release: 07/12/2006

Guthrie, KY (Todd County) - On Tuesday, July 11, 2006 an autopsy was performed on the victim, Tommie Curtis Pridgen age 32 of Clarksville, TN, at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Madisonville, KY. Mr. Pridgen died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds.

On Monday, July 10, 2006 at approximately 12:12 p.m., the Kentucky State Police Post 2 Madisonville was contacted by Todd County Emergency Services reference a body that was located in a cornfield near the intersection of KY 848 and US 79 north of Guthrie. The Todd County Sheriff's Department responded to the scene and secured it until KSP arrived. A male victim was located dead at the scene. The victim appeared to have been shot.

KSP Detective Steve Silfies and KSP Sgt. Stacey Blackburn are the lead investigators.
