Pursuit and Arrest in Muhlenberg County

Date of News Release: 07/09/2006

(Caldwell County) - Sgt. Duane Snyder U/167 and Trooper Lloyd Ray U/617 were conducting traffic safety checkpoint on KY 189 in Muhlenberg County. Chad Ebling and his brother Billy J. Ebling had stopped at the traffic safety checkpoint and were asked by units to pull their vehicle over to the side of the roadway. Subjects failed to do so and fled from the checkpoint. A pursuit ensued and units followed subjects until the subject's vehicle became disabled on KY 171 south of Greenville, KY.

Both subjects were arrested and lodged in the Muhlenberg County Jail. Chad Ebling was charged with fleeing and evading. Billy J. Ebling was charged with operating on suspended operator's license, DUI 2nd aggravated, fleeing and evading 1st, speeding, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance 1st degree 2nd offense -methamphetamine, and tampering with physical evidence.
