Fatal Crash on Edward T. Breathitt Parkway in Hopkinsville, KY

Date of News Release: 06/22/2006

Hopkinsville, KY (Christian County) - Michael R. Eubank age 40 of Glendale, AZ was operating a 2006 Ford Ranger northbound on the Edward T. Breathitt Parkway just south of the 8 mile-marker. Attached to the pickup truck was an approximately 8-foot trailer with gravel on it. The trailer started weaving and Michael Eubank lost control. The vehicle traveled into the median and overturned ejecting Michael Eubank's father, Wilson R. Eubank age 75 of Hopkinsville, KY. The vehicle came to rest upright blocking the passing lane of the southbound side of the parkway. Wilson Eubank, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Christian County Coroner. Michael Eubank, who was wearing a seatbelt, sustained possible injuries to his leg, but was not transported. Tpr. Brian Gann investigated the crash that occurred on June 22, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. The Christian County Sheriff's Department, Christian County Fire & Rescue, Christian County EMS and the Christian County Coroner's Office assisted at the scene.
