Injury Crash on KY 138 Hopkins County, KY

Date of News Release: 04/05/2006

(Hopkins County) - James E. Evans 24 of Central City, KY was operating a 1990 Cadillac Brougham eastbound on KY 138. Mr. Evans lost control of his vehicle for no apparent reason and dropped off the right side of the roadway. Mr. Evans's vehicle slid down an embankment striking a concrete culvert and overturned several times before coming to rest right side up. Mr. Evans's vehicle suddenly caught fire while he was still in the vehicle. Two oncoming motorists stopped to render aid and were able to extricate Mr. Evans from his burning vehicle. Mr. Evans was transported by EMS to RMC where he was then life flighted to University of Louisville Hospital by Air Evac. The accident remains under investigation by Tpr. Derek Smith. Tpr. Ben Sawyer, RMC Ambulance, and Hanson Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
