Promoting Contraband Arrest in Central City, KY

Central City, KY (Muhlenberg County) - On Sunday, January 29, 2006 at approximately 2:20 p.m., Sharon D. Wilson age 52 of Owensboro, KY was visiting her son who was an inmate at the Green River Correctional Complex. As she was leaving, she hugged her son. While she was hugging her son, two guards saw her pass something into her son's hand. When the guards confronted her son, he began to back away from them and put something in his mouth. He then took it out of his mouth and the guards confiscated it. The guards confiscated balloons that had baggies inside of them. After opening the bags and testing them, it was determined that they contained marijuana. Sharon Wilson was arrested without further incident and charged with promoting contraband 1st degree. She was lodged in the Muhlenberg County Detention Center. Tpr. Nathan Knight is the investigating officer.
