Traffic Stop and Drug Arrest in Hopkins County, KY

(Hopkins County, KY) - While on routine patrol, Sgt. Murray observed a vehicle northbound on the parkway that was weaving in and out of the lane it was in. Upon initiating a traffic stop, the odor of burned Marijuana was detected in the vehicle and on the person of Mr. Jason Willis. A search of the vehicle revealed a small quantity of Marijuana, Prescription Pills, Methamphetamine, and various items of Drug Paraphernalia. Mr. Willis was the only occupant of the vehicle and acknowledged ownership of the contraband. The investigation is continuing.

Mr. Jason Willis was charged with Driving Side to Side of Highway, Failure to Wear Seatbelt, DUI 1st, Possession of Marijuana, Prescription Controlled Substance Not in Proper Container, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd Offense, and Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree-Methamphetamine and he was lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center.
