Update to Murder Investigation in Caldwell County, KY (1/6/06)

An image of Joseph CarawayPrinceton, KY (Caldwell County) - On Thursday, January 5, 2006 investigators from the Kentucky State Police arrested Joseph E. Caraway, age 23 of Princeton, KY, and charged him in connection with the murder of Robert Lee Doris. Caraway was charged with murder and robbery 1st degree. He is currently being held at the Caldwell County Jail on $100,000 cash bond on the murder charge and a $50,000 cash bond on the robbery 1st degree charge.

On Thursday, December 15, 2005 the Caldwell County Sheriff's Department contacted the Kentucky State Police Madisonville Post in reference to a death investigation. The victim, 73 year-old Robert Lee Doris, was found deceased inside his residence located off KY Highway 70 West in the Fryer Community.

An autopsy performed on the victim concluded that he died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head. The Kentucky State Police are continuing the investigation.
