Grand Jury Returned Indictments on Shooting Arrest in LaCenter, KY
Date of News Release: 11/17/2006
(LaCenter, KY.) A Ballard County Grand Jury has indicted Joshua Watson for the November 15, 2006 shooting of Cody Ballard. On the 15th at 11:25 P.M., Kentucky State Police received a call of a shooting that occurred in a parking lot at the intersection of U.S. 60 and Broadway in LaCenter. An altercation occurred between the victim, Cody Ballard and Watson. Watson was arrested early the next morning, charged with Assault 2nd, for allegedly shooting Ballard in the leg.
At the request of the Ballard County Commonwealth Attorney, Detective George Bell presented the case to the Grand Jury. The Grand Jury returned indictments for Attempted Murder and 2 counts of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree. The two charges for Wanton Endangerment stem from witnesses that were present during the shooting.
Watson remains in the Ballard County Detention Center on $100,000.00 bond. The investigation is continuing by Detective George Bell.
