Fatal Crash on US 60 in Ledbetter

Date of News Release: 07/30/2006

(Ledbetter, KY.) At approximately 8:35AM, a vehicle operated by Lukus Herron of Lola struck a vehicle driven by Carolyn F. Duty of Ledbetter head-on. Herron was traveling West on U.S. 60 in Ledbetter when he crossed over the centerline and struck the eastbound Duty vehicle. The Herron vehicle rotated counterclockwise coming to rest in a yard on the north side of U.S. 60. The Duty vehicle rotated counterclockwise and came to rest facing west in the eastbound lane. Livingston County Coroner Jeff Armstrong pronounced Herron dead at the scene. Everyone in both vehicles was wearing their seatbelts. The occupants of the Duty vehicle were transported to local hospitals and treated for their injuries. The Livingston County Sheriff's Department, Ledbetter, Smithland and Reidland Fire Departments, Livingston County EMS and Coroner's Office assisted state police at the scene. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Trent Weaver and Post One Reconstructionist TFC. Barry Meadows.
