Fatal Motorcycle Crash on HWY 121 in Calloway County, KY

Date of News Release: 05/12/2006

(Calloway County, KY) - Alexander E. Jarvis was northbound on HWY 121 at a high rate of speed and struck the back of unit 2 also northbound on HWY 121. Both the driver (Alexander E. Jarvis) and the passenger (Julie M. Jiorino) of Mr. Jarvis's motorcycle were ejected. Unit 3 was southbound on HWY 121 and struck Julie M. Jiorino in the southbound lane. Mr. Jarvis's motorcycle came to final rest on the east side of HWY 121. Unit 2 came to final rest in the travel portion of the northbound lane of HWY 121. Unit 3 came to final rest in the southbound lane of HWY 121.

Both Alexander E. Jarvis and Julie M. Jiorino were pronounced dead at the Murray Calloway County Emergency Room.

Trooper Duvall was assisted on the scene by the Calloway County Sheriff, Murray Police Department, Calloway County Fire/Rescue, Murray Fire Department, Disaster and Emergency Services, Trooper Tim Sales and Sgt. Tim Moore. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Brian Duvall and Trooper Tim Sales.
