Theft by Unlawful Taking Over $300.00 Investigation in McLean County

(Henderson, KY) - On Sunday 11-12-06, Alice Phillips called KSP to report that her ATV's and generator were stolen from her vacant home at 605 Stringer Road. A State Police investigation reveled that the stolen Honda R80 dirt bike was sold to Owensboro Pawn Shop on 11-7-06, by Michael Owens. The stolen Honda 3500 generator was also located at the Owensboro Pawn Shop and was sold to the pawn shop manager on 11-9-06, by an 18 year old woman from Dawson Springs, KY. Her charges are pending due to the on-going investigation. The investigation further reveled that Matthew Douglas sold the stolen Honda R50 dirt bike at By-Pass Pawn Shop in Powderly, KY, on 11-4-06. The investigation found that Cindy Owen, Jason Majors and Matthew Douglas broke into the vacant home through the rear doors. Once inside, the three stole the two dirt bikes prior to leaving. The Polaris and generator were stolen on a later date by an unknown person(s).
The two dirt bikes and generator was recovered and released back to the owner, however, the Polaris four-wheeler is still unaccounted for. The investigation is still continuing and one to two more arrests may be forthcoming.
There have been multiple reports and investigations of burglaries in the Sacramento area. KSP is requesting that those not only in the Sacramento area, but the neighboring counties be extra vigilant as residential burglaries may rise around the holiday season(s).
