Fire Investigation in Henderson County
Date of News Release: 11/09/2006
(Henderson, KY) - At 2101 hours Henderson County dispatched a call to a house explosion on Highway 136 west of Henderson. Responding agencies were Smith Mills Volunteer Fire Dept., Corydon Volunteer Fire Dept., Cairo Volunteer Fire Dept., Henderson County Rescue Squad, Kentucky State Fire Marshals Office and the Kentucky State Police.
The Fire was extinguished and an investigation was initiated into the cause and origin of the explosion.
The preliminary determination of the joint investigation of the State Fire Marshals Office and the Kentucky State Police, concluded that the explosion was a result of a flammable gas. The source of the gas is still under investigation. No foul play or criminal activity is suspected in this incident.
Both victims of the explosion were transported to Louisville Kentucky for medical treatment and their condition is not available at this time.
